Title Network Est. Air Date Category Series Info Comments Updates
Captain Cook's Extraordinary Atlas ABC Undetermined Fantasy A young girl finds an atlas that leads to a mysterious, secret underworld.  Work has begun on this pilot with no current air date pegged.
Miracle ABC Undetermined Supernatural A former televangelist who has turned away from his faith finds that God is working through him to change people's lives.  Produced by Tim Minear (Lois & Clark, Angel) and Todd Holland. If only God could put an end to all of these people on television series flitting about and changing people's lives . . .
Section 8 ABC Undetermined Science Fiction About a group of people with special abilities working for a secret government agency. Zak Penn (X-Men 2, X-Men: The Last Stand) is writing the pilot and the series currently has a six episode order.
The Witches of Eastwick ABC Undetermined Supernatural Based on the movie of the same name about three witches who summon up the Devil. Call it a wild guess, but I'm betting Jack Nicholson will not be reprising his role as the Dark One.
99 Stories AMC Undetermined Horror; Science Fiction Written by David Seltzer (The Omen), this series will be about a group of people trapped in a high-tech 99 story building. Well, I guess they should be able to get at least 99 episodes out of the concept, right? It was supposed to bow in Fall, but no word has come out on it yet.
The Prisoner AMC Spring / Summer 2009 Science Fiction A six part mini-series remake of 1967 series.  According to the AMC press release:  "AMC's reinterpretation will reflect 21st Century concerns and anxieties, such as liberty, security, and surveillance, yet also showcase the same key elements of paranoia, tense action and socio-political commentary seen in McGoohan's enigmatic original." Can they possibly manage to maintian the quality of the original?  We need information, information, information . . .  They have attached some big names to the remake.  Jim Caviezel (Passion of Christ) has been signed to reprise the role of Number 6 with Ian McCellan (Lord of the Rings, X-Men) pegged to step in as Number 2.
Boldy Going Nowhere FOX Undetermined Comedy; Science Fiction This comedy from the creators of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia will follow the misadventures of an inter-galactic space crew following a rogue space captain. Sounds like a rewrite of Star Trek as a sitcom.
Drop Dead Diva FOX Undetermined Supernatural The spirit of a deceased model possesses the body of an unattractive, overweight attorney.  Produced by Josh Berman (Bones, Vanished, CSI).
Inseparable FOX Undetermined Supernatural Lloyd Owen will star in this Jekyll-and-Hyde story from Shaun Cassidy (Invasion, American Gothic) about a paralyzed forensic psychiatrist with a criminal alter ego.  Work has begun on the pilot with the showed pegged as a possible mid-season replacement.   Isn't NBC already doing this?  Well, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery (or is it the surest path to legal action?).
Invisible FOX Undetermined Science Fiction A criminal is given a second chance after he is accidentally turned invisible.   Didn't the Sci Fi Channel already do this several years back?
Them FOX Undetermined Science Fiction; Alien Encounters Based on Michael Oeming and Daniel Berman's graphic novel Six about a sleeper cell of aliens living in Los Angeles.  Produced by David Eick (Battlestar Galactica, Bionic Woman), the pilot has been completed but FOX has not set an air date or given a series commitment yet.
The Last Templar NBC Spring / Summer 2009 Supernatural This mini-series starring Mira Sorvino and Scott Foley will give us a Davinci Code-like story dealing with the secrets of the Knights Templar.
The Listener NBC Summer 2009 Supernatural Toby Logan (Thirteen Ghosts) plays a paramedic who also happens to be a telepath.
Alice Sci Fi Channel Undetermined Fantasy This six hour teleplay will give us a modern-day re-imagining of Alice in Wonderland from mini-series moguls Robert Halmi, Sr. and Robert Halmi, Jr. Will somebody please put a stop to the Halmi clan?  They have already desecrated such fantastic literary works as Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea books and The Wizard of Oz with their overblown, hackneyed, cliché-burdoned "re-imaginings" which are nothing more than hack, television trash.  How many more works of literature can they ravage?
Awesomes, The Sci Fi Channel Undetermined Superhero; Comedy Animated comedy series about a group of superheroes established in the 1940's that has lost its popularity in favor of more trendy new superteams.  Among the creators of the series is Seth Meyers of Saturday Night Live.
Deputized Sci Fi Channel Undetermined Science Fiction This series tells the story of a man accidentally fitted with an alien exoskeleton who then enlists with the intergalactic police force.
Outer Space Astronauts Sci Fi Channel Undetermined Comedy; Science Fiction This series will combine live action, 3-D animation and 2-D animation in a story about a "space-ally" challenged crew stuck in the daily grind of working in space. Science Fiction rarely works well in the sitcom format, but people keep trying . . .
The Stranded Sci Fi Channel Undetermined Science Fiction Based on the comic book by Mike Carey, five people find out that they are really from another planet and that they are now threatened by their extarterrestrial connections
True Believer Sci Fi Channel Undetermined Superhero In this series, a comic fanboy becomes the sidekick to an aging superhero.
Farscape (Web Series) Sci Fi Pulse Undetermined Science Fiction This series of 3 - 6 minute "mini-isodes" will run on the Sci Fi Pulse internet broadband network and is produced by the same creative team as the original television series.  10 episodes have been ordered and will include returning characters from the original series as well as new characters.  There are currently no details on which characters will return and when the series will air. Is this an attempt by the Sci Fi Channel to make peace with fans still enraged by the cancellation of Farscape and/or an attempt to set the stage for a relaunch of the series? Ben Browder has expressed interest in reprising his role as John Crichton in the Web series although no definite commitments have been made at this point.
The Oaks Undetermined Undetermined Supernatural A supernatural series that tells the story of three families across three generations.   FOX chose to pass on this series and it is now being shopped to othe venues.
Star Wars TV Series Undetermined Undetermined Science Fiction; Fantasy This will be a live action series that will take place between Episodes III (Revenge of the Sith) and Episode IV (A New Hope) of the theatrical series.  It will take place in a different part of the Star Wars universe and is not planning to include major characters from the movies. I would say that I am looking forward to this series, but after seeing episodes 1 - 3 of the film series it will probably just be another extended commercial for Star Wars merchandise. Word is that Lucas is beginning production on the first 13 episodes that he will finance then shop to the networks.  One could consider this a favorable sign that he wants to maintain creative control, but it is probably more about keeping the licensing rights.
